The Sepulveda Unitarian Universalist Society welcomes Lee Marie Sanchez as its new Consulting Minister. Lee Marie has been a religious professional for 18 years, beginning her career as Director of Religious Education in Washington State and then entering Meadville Lombard Theological School in Chicago.
As part of her training for ministry, Lee Marie worked 2 years as a Chaplain, completing her internship as a Hospital and Hospice Resident. Moving to California several years ago, Lee Marie became the Religious Education Consultant for the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Laguna Beach and then served the Unitarian Universalist Church of Anaheim for almost 5 years as their Consulting Minister.
As Lee Marie completes coursework for her Masters of Divinity, she continues to be active as a Guest Minister, preaching, teaching and officiating at weddings across Southern California. She is also an activist for marriage equality and civil rights.
As a newly credentialed "Welcoming Congregation" by the Unitarian Universalist Association, SUUS will benefit from the experience Lee Marie brings in support of LGBT issues.
