Welcome to the Sepulveda Unitarian Universalist Society-also fondly referred to as The Onion. We are one of over a thousand UU congregations in the United States with many more throughout the world.

Our Congregation

This congregation began in the mid 20th century and settled in what was then called Sepulveda with the dedication of our beautiful Onion sanctuary in 1965. Many people have called this their church, or spiritual home, and community of friends during the ensuing decades. We welcome you to join us if you're seeking a liberal, spiritual community such as ours.

Our Principles

With no single creed but rather by the Principles in which we believe and covenant to uphold, we open our doors to seekers from all faiths or religions, atheists or agnostics, or those who simply want to know first hand what our UU congregation is all about.

A WELCOMING CONGREGATION: As a religious community open to all people, we affirm the differences among us, and firmly pledge our welcome to and support for people of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender community.

Our Services

We have varied worship services on Sunday mornings that feature our minister, visiting ministers from our faith and other faith traditions, lay leaders, or speakers from the community. All of which provides a wide range of topics to encourage -- maybe even provoke -- our personal and spiritual growth.

Religious Exploration for children is currently in transition. Children and youth are encouraged to participate in our multi-generational worship services. Childcare is provided as an alternative for our younger children.

The Onionaires, our choir, performs twice a month during Sunday services and they welcome new members.

We invite you to join us as we affirm each Sunday that we are a people of the open mind, loving hearts, and helping hands. Join us as we strive to make that our living legacy. Service begins at 10:30 am each Sunday followed by fellowship and refreshments. All are welcome.
