Covenant Groups
A covenant group is a small group of six to ten people who meet regularly to establish and nurture themselves in their own beloved community. Covenant groups provide an opportunity for group members to build strong relationships with each other and with the larger organization of which the small group is a part. Find out more.
Shamanic Drumming Circle
The Sepulveda Unitarian Universalist Society ("the Onion") is offering a shamanic drumming circle, facilitated by returning members Richard and Jennifer Dier. The group is open to the larger community and meets on Monday nights, either monthly or biweekly.
Shamanic drumming is a form of meditation. The circle will generally follow the principles taught by anthropologist Dr. Michael Harner in his book The Way of the Shaman (see also www.shamanicstudies.org for information). As this group will be doing actual journey work each meeting, it may not be appropriate for absolute beginners.
